"If vegetarians are against eating meat, why do they eat something that looks and tastes like meat?"

This kind of question has always annoyed me. I have never ever claimed not to like meat and if I can experience the same or similar (and in some cases, even better!) taste from Quorn and Linda McCartney foods (for example) without supporting a cruel industry then why would I not? It’s not as though you cut open a pig and loads of sausages spill out. They are made into that shape which is why you can get beef sausages, pork burgers etc. The point being, does it really matter what shape my food is in as long as it doesn’t contain dead animal flesh?

I really don’t think I should be criticised for voluntarily doing a good, kind thing.
